Dark and Moody Lightroom Presets | Introducing the Mood Pack

Our fourth pack of Lightroom Presets is called “The Mood Pack,” featuring the dark and moody style of photo editing.  The Mood Pack features a warm cinematic look with a subtle matte finish in the shadows and highlights. It’s designed to create an earthy and organic look to your imagery. It works for almost any type of photography, but it is stylistically most fitting of adventure, wanderlust, or elopement style photography. Put simply, the Mood Pack is tones for days!

The Dark and Moody style can be applied to photography in all types of scenes.  However, it’s most commonly used in scenes commonly categorized as adventure, wanderlust, or elopement photos.

The Mood Pack vs The Others

In some ways, the Mood Pack is the opposite of the “Crush Pack.” Crush pumps up the colors and vibrance to make the image pop, while Mood brings them down and uncovers a more organic feel.  In other ways, the Mood Pack is the opposite of the “Pastel Pack.”  While Pastel brightens the images and gives it a bright and airy vibe, Mood increases the blacks and gives images a dark and moody vibe.

Dark and Moody Lightroom Presets create a style that photographers and their clients often refer to with the following terms: dramatic, earthy, organic, hipster, boho, filmic, and gritty.  Dark and Moody is one of the main 4 styles of post production for wedding and portrait photography.
